Don't ask me. I contribute to it daily. Just thought it was a pretty cool video.

Perspective from the comments section....

quote:

Why is this terrifying? The difference between the red(bad and scary?) and the blue(good and calming?) is only 4 parts per million by volume.?

that is why I hate those type of color choices. Makes it seem so bad, when in actuality, it makes no comment whatsoever on severity. Just that these parts have higher concentration than those.

And that's what they want. They want it it look bad and scary. Just look at all the comments below the the video about how it's "shocking" and "sobering". Just goes to show how gullible people are in that the vast majority of people will never stop to think for themselves and instead will blindly just buy whatever tripe is laid out in front of them as long as it's given with the phrase "studies show" or "according to a panel of experts".

They make that video to look like the atmosphere over whole northern hemisphere is just totally saturated with carbon dioxide (which BTW is a naturally occurring gas that's been in the atmosphere for billions of years) when the reality is the rise is negligible.

I was being sarcastic.

I actually believe in global warming.

So the next question becomes what are the impacts to the increased concentrations........

They might range from negligible to catastrophic.

It shows you the ppm-color reference in the bottom right of the video

385 ppm to 405 ppm C02 hasnt been seen on this planet in if im not mistaken almost 800k years, humans took it from an average of 300 to 400 in just 55 years.

How someone able to think doesnt realize that once balanced environmental equations pre industry are now drastically altered in a very bad way is beyond me.

You should head over to the poli board or Sen Inhoufe's office, the Republican Chairman of the Committee on Science and Educational Policy, who thinks God controls the climate and that man cant affect the climate at all and its arrogant to believe otherwise.
