Yes. Yes I do! As a matter of fact, I want to offend as many liberals as possible. I don't know if I'll be so lucky, but that would qualify as a good day.
Go frick yourself.

Except that it won't happen like that. Look at chick fil a. People that never shopped there threatened to boycott, protest, blah blah blah. The response was people wrapped around the block to buy their product. You pander to an insignificant minority you lose respect and whatever you had invested in an ad campaign. You stand up to baseless accusations and it's more likely that people who might not have shopped at your store will now to show support. It's not that hard.
This. Exactly.
Donald Trump has a real shot at being elected President of the United States of America because he is employing this tactic. He has his finger on the pulse of America and knows how the majority of us are thinking and are so fed up with the PC liberal sensitive yuppy bullshite. Let's restate that. Donald. fricking. Trump has a shot at being elected President of the United States of America.

honestly catering to the SJWs seems to be the worst thing that they can do
if they ignore it, we never really hear about it again
if they cater, it still pisses off the SJWs and the CJWs
if they stand firm and come out and tell the SJWs to frick off, the SJWs might boycott or whatever, but then the CJWs rally around and throw business at their way moreso

The last two elections proved that Republicans trotted out shite candidates, 99% of blacks that vote will do so for another black, and younger liberals view elections more as a popularity contest than basing decisions on policies.

I don't think this was a smart move strategically.
They did just piss off a segment of their customer base, but I'd have to see their revenue sources and market demos to really understand, but gut instinct tells me this was stupid. They should have stayed quiet (like pretty much everyone other large business with operations in NC) and let the storm pass.
I don't know: maybe their market analytics are telling them something else, but on its face, it seems stupid. eBay and PayPal cuts a pretty damn wide swath across demographics, customer preferences, geographies, and so forth.
I do wonder if/when the Singapore thing will come up with them. It's one thing to do business in certain countries - for a company like PayPal, it's pretty much unavoidable - but it's an entirely different thing to stake a large international HQ somewhere.

What are "CJWs"
Conservative Justice Warriors? That moniker doesn't really fit, because people opposed to SJWs aren't necessarily Conservative. Just tired of pandering and kowtowing to delusion and madness.

I actually think LBJ was worse, because he set up the system for all of this to happen with his "Great Society".

these companies know their business, industry, and customers better than we do, but that won't stop me from screaming about what they should do!

Yeah, because if Amazon and Wal-Mart hadn't pulled the rebel flag I'm so certain that people would stock shopping there.
The simple fact is a majority of people don't care when a company does something that a tiny minority finds "offensive" because they do it every day.
It's simply ignorant.

Have all these CEOs become so sackless that they'll give in to any threat of being labeled "insensitive"?
Not all CEOs do, but it's usually dependent on what the companies core values are. Most shareholders expect the CEO to uphold them. If a company has a target market full of SJWs, it's in their best interest to appear "sensitive" to causes and feelings.
Posted on 4/6/16 at 1:48 pm to fr33manator
You should tell them that. Maybe they'll give you a cushy executive job.
Posted on 4/6/16 at 2:03 pm to AUbagman
How many target markets are full of SJWs though? If it was one of them I'd understand, but it's these huge companies that come groveling, begging for forgiveness because some special snowflake took umbrage at something harmless.
It's the same problem with HR departments. They've murdered common sense and having a backbone in today's corporate culture.

If you want to align yourself with the bottom of the barrel, be my guest. Tell me how that works out for you when you grow up and have to get a big-boy job & pay the big-boy taxes so the 47% can hang around your neck like an anvil.

I mean your Chipotles and Whole Foods of the world are becoming more prevalent. A lot of companies are embracing that 20/30 year old hipster culture while running with this "fight for equality" SJW trend. But it's just that IMO, a trend. People will tire and bore of always being on the defensive and we'll see a push back. Companies are just profiting from the cultural trends like they always have and always will.

Being offended makes people think and I'm ok with that.
You conservatives remember that when I make Jesus jokes.

and re: Walmart, amazon, and confederate flags: do you really think the benefits of continuing to sell them outweigh the risk of a boycott and any kind of negative press?
