A Need a New Challenge in My Life...Something Exciting

Google has failed me.
Queries like Challenges for Men in their 30s have now inundated me with relationship advice and ED pills from India.
I feel like I've been stuck in a rut for a while now and after the recent health scare (it was benign and removal will be outpatient.
I lost the girlfriend that I did everything to keep other than love myself in her words.
Now, I need to meet new people. I need to get out. I want a challenge. I want that edoprhin/testerone boost you get from putting yourself through the ringer.
Any ideas?
Quick specs.
I'm 6'2
Roughly 215-222 lb
Naturally physcially fit but can pack on muscle pretty quick.
Smoked for 20 years or so, so that ends tomorrow.
I just want that feeling of accomplishment of doing something hard.
Any good sites out there?

Take your time figuring things out and just be selfish for awhile.

Volunteer to help out for disabled kids or volunteer at a hospital somewhere.

Normally, I take this as sound advice, but I need a challenge to get the damn porch and put down the stout and the stogie.
I'm 34. No wife. No kids. Decent job. Not much personal satisfaction.
Just looking for a challenge.

I'm not joking with my previous suggestion. Find a place out West to work on. If you're an avid outdoorsman, find a place with close hiking/climbing/riding/kayaking/whatever nearby - there are plenty to choose from.
Working with the land and with animals will make you feel more accomplished (and tired) than anything else. Have you ever eaten a meal that was picked and slaughtered by your own hands?

Like someone who worked on a cook line for 8 years...shaved flat

Do some volunteer work. The rewards to yourself are far greater than the people you help. Ladies also love the giving spirit in people.
