Yeah, it's actually snowed a few times this year. Not much, though. Haven't had real snow since 2011. I threw my sled away last year.

Best thing about living in the city, i can't remember the last time a skeeter has even bothered me... although I have been in the CBD the last 9 years and living in the quarter before that. Might change a bit now I'm back upt where there maybe more standing water.

Did a shirtless jog today and it was absolutely lovely. I wish we could have 70 degree Januarys all the time

Shirtless jogs are soooo money...

The talent I've seen on St Charles this week. I may have to get me a couple in with the way the weather is.

Yeah, that breeze off the Mississippi helps as well. I live "in town".. There is rural area around me, but the parish sprays for mosquitoes throughout the neighborhoods and that helps, but this past year, even with them spraying, they were bad.

Roger, I have friends who live in the interior. Crazy how cold it's about to get there throughout the next week. -45 degree weather just sounds scary.

Yeah they were predicting highs of -31. They may have backed off a bit but after it gets below zero, there's not a lot of difference

Wtf?!!

I hope I never have to live anywhere that even has the possibility of getting that low, especially for a week.

What about the Summers? Being from Baton Rouge, how would you compare the summers?

I mean it's really hot...but not humid.

Meaning...you get in the shade and you can instantly feel a difference.

You just don't do many outdoor activities during the middle of the day. But I'm so used to summers now they really don't bother me at all. Much rather them than rain and humidity and mosquitos in BR summers.

sounds really bad for the woman in their 40's. Thats about the age when the proverbial 'Denver skin brick wall' starts to creep in coffee shop chatter.... it's unfortunate but many wish they'd saved their skin and money and lived in Lake Charles over Vegas.
