Depends on how much printing you do at home. I actually do more scanning than printing. The HP black cartridges (I always set the printer to print a fast draft, black ink only) are only about $16 at Wal Mart. One cartridge will last me at least 6 months.

I have a wife into Pinterest and printing in color.
My $50 HP Envy has cost me close to $200 in ink since I got it with a Black Friday deal last year.
