This. From the beginning of this thing the plot has basically been, "if it gets to the Bahamas we'll have a better idea of what it's capable of doing and where it's capable of going"
It was never going to form a well defined eye or intensify into a hurricane over the Antilles. The jumping for joy that it's dead is way premature, as is any sort of panic that it's definitely going to get into the gulf and turn into a hurricane. Its still a volatile storm system that hasn't reached its ideal location for rapid intensification.
