I legitimately had no clue Papua New Guinea was that close to the equator. I thought Australia and Oceania as a whole were much further south.

Watched a documentary about some of the tribes in Papua New Guinea. They told the story how one tribe kidnapped another tribe's member and ate him, so that tribe in turn kidnapped and ate one of their people. The story was relayed in such a nonchalant way too...like "yeah, they ate our dude, so we ate one of theirs". Good times.
