New Orleans authorities in 2016 found the bodies of seven people inside flaming or burned out vehicles in separate incidents across the city -- cases a law enforcement officer said are inherently difficult to investigate with their charred forensics and complicated victim identifications. Four of those cases are being investigated as a murders, and no arrests have been made in any of them.

NOPD helping Landrieu supress those murder stats

They would be doing society a favor if they just burned certain parts of that city to the ground.

NOPD Capt. Michael Glasser, the president of the Police Association of New Orleans, said homicide scenes involving fire often suggest the perpetrator or perpetrators made an "effort to destroy any forensic evidence." Glasser said when fire is involved, forensic evidence becomes "less certain" or "completely unreliable."
Some killers might intend to use fire to kill or dispose of dead bodies in a "symbolic" gesture, Glasser said, noting the circumstances are "particularly brutal" or "gruesome." However, he added, it's more likely fire is used to destroy evidence.

Geez. Maybe NOLA.com can also publish some articles on how to clean up blood and alter DNA evidence too. This is about the dumbest shite in the world for them to do a story on and shame on the police for saying anything beyond "no comment".

I don't think there are too many people out there that are unaware fire can destroy evidence. If a killer is unaware, I doubt he's regularly reading the paper

To be honest, I'm surprised that number is only single digits.

HWY 11 along the Bayou Savage refuge seems to be a pretty ideal spot these days. Well at least for stolen cars. Dont know about bodies. They did however find the guy with the bullet in his head on the side of Chef right after you turn off hwy 11 a couple weeks ago.
