DEVELOPING: A gunman shot seven people Saturday, killing five of them, in a subdivision west of Atlanta, Georgia.

Douglas County Sheriff's Lt. Glenn Daniel told The Associated Press that authorities received a 911 call Saturday reporting a shooting in Douglasville around 3 p.m.

The gunman was among those injured. He was taken a hospital.

Investigators have not released the names of the suspect or the victims because their family members have not yet been notified. The motive of the shooting was not immediately clear.

Usually these are in ethnic pockets, and has happened with some regularity in those communities in Atlanta. Douglasville is a dump, but no clue what to expect here. Pretty terrible.

The house is in Amber Forest Subdivision. South of I-20. Just off of Hwy92 and Anneewakee Rd.

Very sad for all involved.
