Not only that, i see posts going back to 2011 that chronicle Ari's history.

IT's a website called "Echo of Hope" and they've journaled their entire experience, so why wouldn't they show this big announcement to Ari on their website?

And I'm sure it's been a source of strength for them. One thing in stories like this that often get overlooked is what the families go through.

I was just as guilty of this as anyone else until I had to see my wife and kids go through it. As much as the patient suffers and struggles, their loved ones go through that and in my opinion much more. I've noticed in my wife a change since last November. I can tell she's been jarred and frankly left living in fear. The same is true of my son although he buries it down inside. They need positive thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and just to be able to, even if only for a little while, not be scared and having to worry. The loved ones of a patient like this kid live 24/7 with a level of stress you can't comprehend until you've sat where they sit now having to wonder if your loved one is about to die.

That's what things like this blog those parents made do. And if it helps them cope so they can then be cheerful and upbeat for their son, then I say good for them.

Excerpts from the site:

- Was the first person ever to undergo two successful heart surgeries before he was born

- Has had plus or minus 20 surgeries in all, including open heart, in-utero surgery, cardiac catheterizations, central lines, G tubes, and more

- He is 100% sensitized to antibodies, which means fighting off rejection when he gets a new heart will be an extremely difficult path with uncertain outcomes

About to meet friends for lunch. Won't be looking at this before. Otherwise I'd have to explain my red eyes

I had two heart surgeries in November and they knocked me on my arse and put me through hell for over three months. I'm just now starting to get to back to functioning somewhat normally. I can't imagine what this kid has endured. Bless his little heart. And bless the hearts of those around him for what they've had to endure.

As a dad who's been on the bad end of waiting for a heart transplant for my son, this is a very bittersweet moment for the family

By another kid dying, they're giving this kid a fighting chance at survival. I hate that that's what it comes to but it's necessary until we can make functioning organs.

God bless this kid and his recovery, will be many tough days ahead after surgery
