After 211 days waiting for a new heart at Boston Children's Hospital, the call came for Ari. We are forever thankful for the donor and donor families sacrifice, and will think about them every day for the rest of our lives.

He obviously knows how serious this is, and what recovery looks like, because he mentions a friend who has already had a transplant. Still, he just takes in the information like a grown man. What a brave kid

This.
Amazing how resilient kids are.
Poor little dude just wants to get back home and start terrorizing things.

The moment he says "so I can go home tomorrow" right after they tell him he could get his heart that day. If that doesn't kick you in the gut then you're dead inside.

great story, hopefully a very happy ending....

but i just don't understand how parents can be filming their kid while telling him this shite and then put it online.

Different strokes.

I think it's fantastic. There's an entire website dedicated to updates, and a lot of people seem to care, so I think it was a great idea.

This is a feel good story, I don't see the issue. It's not quite like the ones that filmed the 8 year old or however old the kid was when the Dad told him his mother OD'ed and died. Now THAT is crossing the line.

If he don't know the answer to his asinine questioning then i don't really know if you can get through to him.

If that video gets one parent to go out and sign their child up as an organ donor then it's done its job.

Whew! That video hit me squarely in the feels.

He just wants to be able to drink more water and go home.

I don't have any problems.....

I can't even imagine 211 days in the hospital for a 5 year old. I have twin 5 year old boys, yea, right in the feels.

I'm not going to question or judge these parents over this. Instead I'm just thankful by the Grace of God my children are healthy. Unless we've faced what they're facing, we can't fathom what they're going through.

If I had to say anything, I'd say they're looking for compassion, understanding, and just moral support to help them keep their spirits up. Going through something like this is exhausting, terrifying, and extremely stressful. With what I've just gone through with my heart condition, I've seen first hand how it can affect the loved ones and care givers of someone who is a facing life threatening condition. They need all the positive vibes, prayers, and support they can get.

Not only that, i see posts going back to 2011 that chronicle Ari's history.

IT's a website called "Echo of Hope" and they've journaled their entire experience, so why wouldn't they show this big announcement to Ari on their website?
