Posting this with permission of Richard (owner)

Last night someone came by and shot the front glass door. LPSO officers are investigating. Any tips are appreciated.

Somebody took a turn too fast and a loose truck nut went flying.

Found the bullet/pellet. The talk was of a disgruntled customer

That's the one of the few times someone cried because they busted a nut.

Except Serreanux. He cries every time he busts a nut.

That's not a bullet. Probably BB gun, pellet gun, or rock

That case he should know who that is otherwise he has too many disgruntled customers which doesn't say much for his business.

1:Not a bullet, that is not bullet proof glass it is normal storefront glass.

Next step is to replace it.
Unless there is a video camera in place (and it's 2016 a dvr camera can be had for under $100) then there is no way for people on the internet to help out.

A good pellet will pierce glass as will most BBs (I plead the fifth in telling how I know) that looks like it hit with impact and bounced off, so likely not thrown by hand unless it was a MLB pitcher. Possible slinghot.

Was the grass cut recently? Looks like could be debris from a lawnmower which I have seen happen.

You sure do have a lot of "answers" and "theories"... So, tell us... where were *YOU* last night?

Y'all are overthinking this.

That glass wouldn't stop a slingshot... It isn't a windhsield.

Guy probably lost a mulching tang on a mower blade.

Happened in the middle of the night and the gates were locked.

I'm telling what the police were told. Happened in the early morning. The fence is around 100 feet from the front door and the place was locked up. There is no residential property for about 1/2 mile in any direction. It's out in the middle of no where. The theory is someone shot a high powered pellet gun (or something similar) from the road in their vehicle. The police found a pellet in the window area.

A standard pellet will punch through glass no problem.

Getting the glass to be pulverized like that without penetration lends itself more toward a larger lighter projectile.

Bullets after impact don't look like they do before impact. A jacketed 9mm ends up looking more like a penny.

Cops aren't breaking out the crack ballistic team for a window.

That's a mighty large impact for a pellet...
