Space City lands at the top of our ranking’s trash heap as America’s Dirtiest City. It claims the title from Newark, New Jersey, its 2022 predecessor and this year’s No. 2.
Among the 152 cities we ranked, Space City is the third most polluted. In fact, a recent study found that the city’s petrochemical facilities severely violate EPA safety guidelines.
Our data supports those findings: Houston ranks third worst in greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial facilities. The city has the biggest cockroach problem, too, according to the Census Bureau.

Surprised to see San Antonio on that list at all

NOLA would have to be top 5 if it were considering the trash that's actually visible

I lived in San Antonio for a short while in the early 2000’s and it was pretty clean. I haven’t been back in years, maybe it’s fallen to the waste side since.

As dirty as Nola is, the air quality always seemed better than the west coast utopias. Probably mainly from they just have a shite load more people and the wild fires started by crack heads or homeless immigrants.
Where is the epa violation on that?

Nola air quality tests don’t account for the smell of piss and vomit apparently.

The Dirty South is poorly represented.
The judges must’ve only visited the “good” parts of the city.

Texas cities are a lot more dirty than the Texas supremacists here will admit. If I move out of nola, I'm going somewhere that's actually clean and nice.

I call BS as there is No New Orleans.

Bakersfield
We were driving through here and stopped to get gas two weeks ago. Within those 10 minutes we saw the following:
1) A junky standing in the middle of the road yelling at cars and trying to fight the drivers.
2) Multiple people aggressively asking for money, one of which I thought was going to get violent.
3) A woman at Popeye's next to the gas station get out of her car to yell at the toddler (no more than 2 years-old) in the back seat, "What the f*** is you crying for? Shut the f*** up!"
4) A very dirty city.
So this part of the list checks out.

I don’t care, it produced one of the best rock bands

Bakersfield is a shithole
Buddy, we used to make fun of Modesto, but that place is paradise compared to what I've seen recently in Bakersfield and San Bernardino.

So it’s fake news.
CO2 =/= dirty
Propaganda got to be sneaky like that

Walk down Bourbon street the morning a party night while they’re cleaning the street and you will be discussed beyond belief

San Antonio should not be on this list
Posted on 1/27/23 at 6:52 am to BeachDude022
That list is bullshite without Philly or Camden NJ.
