I recently bought a 2015 Sienna and had the dealer put a tralier hitch on it prior to delivery. Turns out it bottoms out everytime we enter the driveway (old street, sharp angle, etc).

I looked at a couple of youtube videos on installing them, and I am thinking of taking it off until I need it. My visual inspection shows 3 bolts to bottom of chasis on each side. Wiring harness is not connected to the hitch.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance.

99% of them are just bolted on through the frame. The other 1% is the yahoos who stuck weld them on for some reason

Just remember to put the hitch next to your balls on your wife's bedside table so you don't lose it.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you are correct, OP.

Bolting that hitch on is going to be a PIA so if you use it more than 3-4 times a year I'd look at alternative solutions.

It doesn't bottom out as you're exiting? Is there enough room to turn around in your drive way? If so, maybe you could back in?

Also what would need to be done to modify your driveway enough to fix this? It's not like you're driving a low rider or something unusual. Maybe bust up 15 ft or so of your driveway and have it repoured in a more gradual incline?
