Maybe...maybe not.

Depends on the 2 year old and kind of car.

Are you assuming that a 2 year old can't and bad things can happen when we assume....

First, IF a 2 year old and 1 year old were able to open a car door, climb into the car and then lock the door. Why did the mother not have eyes on a 2 and 1 year old long enough that they would have time to do this?

Where did she have her phone and keys where a 1 and 2 year old were able to take them and head to the car?

I am thinking about a kid I know that is almost 1.5 years old. I am trying to think if it would be possible for him to be with a 2 year old and they take an adult's keys and phone, go out to the vehicle, open the door, climb into the vehicle, then be able to close the door (it would depend on how much the door was open, but would it be light and close enough for a 1 or 2 year old to successfully reach for and close it?).

It seems like kids that age, if they got into the vehicle, they would not be concerned with closing the door.. Unless it closed on its on, but I would be interested to know how closed was the door. Was it fully closed? Was it shut, but not locked shut?

What kind of car did she have? If you have children around this age, could your child climb into your vehicle on his/her own?

I think you will be surprised what kids can accomplish. Was it a 2 year old...2.5 year old...almost 3 year old? Would want to talk to people who know the child and get an idea of its physical abilities.

This....were the kids supposed to be napping? Also what exactly was the mom doing? Housework? A nap? Drinking/Drugs?

Possible that she had left the keys and cellphone in the car herself instead of the kids taking them.

I disagree. The kids would be just following the normal event of things. Get in car...shut the door. They would have seen that most of their lives and that would be normal for them.

this would be important....problem is she busted the window and opened the door before police arrived so that info is not available.

Would like to know how the car was parked in reference to door closing on its own or how many pounds of pressure needed to close it.

Normal, caring people who are good parents don't. If you Do, something is wrong with you. It happens a few times a year. Its not the norm and in fact, its rare.

Good point. It's what "mommy and daddy" does when when they get in the car. This is just my thinking, only based on reading the story.. but from point A (the kids room) to point B (inside the vehicle) there are several questionable events that supposedly happened and if that is the case (it didn't happen that way), then is it possible the mother could have created a story before the kids were dead?

With that said, I don't know what state of mind the mother was in or, like you said, was this a 2 year old closer to the age of 3.. or what?

This.

Your first priority as a parent is the health, safety, and well being of your children. If this is
truly your priority, it simply does not happen.

Speak for yourself slick. You may forget your children or hell, maybe your mom forgot you more than once but anytime I was responsible for my children when they were only 2 I always knew where they were and what they were doing. It is disturbing that any father would argue otherwise.

I cant believe the number of people in here saying.. ohh its bullshite if you say you haven't forgot your kids are in the car. Jesus Christ.... you sound like you are talking about a pet goldfish or some shite.

I have a 17 year old and a one year old and never not one damn time have me or my wife forgotten our kids. Much less would I let a 1 & 2 year old play alone for long enough to kill themselves. Longest they would be left alone is while I take a piss with the door open so I can hear whats going on.

Go ahead and call parents that give a shite about their kids liars if it makes you feel better. Maybe you are just a dumb arse that forgets what is suppose to be the most important thing in the world to you.

Details will emerge soon. This seems to be the first "child dies alone in hot car" story for 2017.

Media will press.

My 2 year old niece cannot open the door from the outside. Nor can she lock the door. She also cannot buckle her own car seat. Much less that of another kid.
