A 14-year-old physics major has become the youngest person ever to graduate from Texas Christian University.

Carson Huey-You was among more than 2,000 students getting degrees Saturday at the Fort Worth school founded in 1873. He started at TCU in 2013 when he was 11. He also has minors in Chinese and math.

Huey-You tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram ( LINK ) his favorite thing about college has been getting to learn things he never thought about, things he never knew existed and things he might not even think about thinking about. He also says he's learned how to deal with "some real hard classes" and get over the disappointment of a poor score on a test.

The self-described "normal dude" wants to work on getting graduate degrees in quantum mechanics.

You graduated with a Physics degree from a major university at 14 years old.

You clearly have no grasp of what "normal" means, kid. That is not normal.

That is why you weren't in college at 11.

Scruffy bets that this kid knows a lot of words.

pay TCU enough money and they will let you graduate. Nothing to see here.

Graduate school, obviously. He can take classes for two years. Then he'll turn 16 and can work in a lab.

These people, while successful in life, almost never end up serving major contributions to humanity; at least not a statistically higher rate.

I'd venture to say that a much larger portion of the population could have done this, but most chose to live a more normal life. I know my entire high school career could've been compressed into one summer, but I was awkward enough as a 17 year old attending college, and can't even imagine if I'd been 14 or younger. Giving up all "normal" pre-adult life for what amounts to only a seven year jump on everyone else? Not worth it in my opinion.

Much of college isn't about learning, it is about networking and developing social skills. How much of either you think this kid did? Remember how Ted Kaczynski did?

Or grows up to create the technologies that will leave the rest of the world in awe for an entire generation.

You're a pessimistic dude, you know that?

It would be difficult to be a parent of one of these children. You don't want to hold them back, but you want a kid to be a kid
