Years ago, this guy told me he worked at KFC as a teen and they would bleach rotten chicken to remove the green.

Best friend in high school used to work for Long John Silvers. He said the manager over ordered a bunch of different food, so they had raw meats just laying on the floor in the fridge room, meat locker (whatever you call it) plus they had a rodent problem there. They just ran it all through the deep fryer. Plus the fridge would always break and the chicken would be in the 50-65 degree range every once in a while. They would cook it anyway. He said he wouldnt send that shite to starving kids in Africa.

I worked at McDonald's as a kid, the stories are mostly overblown.

Yea the ice cream machine rarely was cleaned, but everything else was pretty good. Sure the guy grilling the burger couldn't count to 9 to maximize the grill space, but all he had to do was press two buttons.

Only thing I wouldn't eat is a mcrib, only because that they look really nasty before being cooked.

Some of those are bullshite.

The McCafe one sounds very reasonable, but the chili at wendys? You are telling me a national chain is telling the stores to scrape the meat already cooked off the grill and freeze for later use?

Would never eat at KFC, but that sounds made up too.

Those are some serious violations that have serious implications, and I doubt any of these chains would promote or hint at the idea to do those things.

That's because it was a question posted on a message board community where not as much weight it put into the comments (because you have no idea who the commenters are).

But stupid re-posting bullshite websites like HuffPost copied and pasted material in a comments section by anonymous users and printed an article with a convincing layout and implying absolute truth.

It's like if someone asked us what companies we have had bad experiences with, we all commented, and then an article was made on a completely different website exposing the things we said as "truths".

I actually enjoy reddit. It doesn't have the flair of the OT baller. But that entire article just made me

Worked in probably the nastiest chain restaurant out there, Chilis, and I know half that shite is made up. We had actual cooks, and everything normally is still prepackaged. All they do is thaw it, stick it in the microwave to heat up, then add water and stir.

As a former manager I can tell you it is. Employees either took the popcorn home or it was trashed. No theater in America does that. Popcorn is incredibly cheap, like 17¢ for what we would sell for $100. Edit: Other people in this thread worked for some shitty theaters, I've worked for 2 of the 3 largest theater companies in the US. AMC and Carmike. Neither does that.

I worked at the AMC theatre in Metairie from 1987 to 1990 and I guarantee you they reused popcorn from the previous night. The trick was to pour the old popcorn into the machine and mix it with freshly popped popcorn. Worked like a charm.

Duncan one is wrong. Some are frozen pucks, some are made out of dough. In the south they're probably frozen and cooked at a central store. In the NE it's at a factory from dough.

I can attest to the hotdog one. I was at a falcons game in some high dollar seats where the concessions are high brow too and I said screw it I'm having a chili dog. Worst decision ever. I was sick for three days off that thing. Everyone in the party that had a hot dog got sick and everyone who had the made to order stuff was fine.

I at that one. One cannot simply order fresh food at McD's.

The only thing on this entire list I would ever order is Chicken McNuggets, and if I'm getting those I really don't care if they're a little old.

The gas station slurpee thing is so true, you have no idea. I've worked in a place where there was one, and you could clean that thing every other day and it would still be gross. The problem is that you don't want to empty it every night to clean it because it's a pain in the arse, and a lot of the time you just end up throwing out the slurpee that was left in there and wasting product, so you just end up not doing it. The machines are really, really gross. However, I didn't give a frick and would drink them all the time because they tasted good.

I never get steak at taco bell because it tastes gross. Chicken ftw.

Agree, 100%. These fast food restaurants are under serious inspection all the time. These sound like stories that might have happened at one Wendy's or one KFC, but certainly isn't the norm for most of the collective restaurants in the chain.
