They have great beer but Brussels is a huge modern city and I was not impressed. I'm sure the country side is nice though.

why France is over priced, I would do (and I am) London instead

When I was in Europe last month the Euro was down to almost a dollar. The quid (pound) is at 1.56 to our dollar. London is one of the most expensive cities in teh world if not the most.

hence why we are going to Ghent, Anterp, Leige, etc.....

Looking at hotels and restaurants, many are cheaper than what I've seen in France. Plus the flight from Brussels to London is cheaper than the flight from Brussels to France.

we also have Berlin and Amsterdam on the schedule and several days to visit a 4th country

haven't been over there lately, but for the last couple of years the pound/dollar was the best I'd seen it in years, the dollar is still a little weak but better that it had been in a long time

Have you let everyone on Facebook know your plans? You should also go over this list on Facebook, along with the dates you are leaving and returning home.

Yea you can fly for really cheap when you are in the EU. Have you looked into train route? You can get really cheap deals when you buy them the day of at the stations.

Sounds like an awesome trip though.

Are you staying in Jordaan area in Amsterdam?

nice way to get around and for a slight fee you can upgrade to "first class" and have a hostess serve you drinks, sort of like a flight attendant except they're nice

yeah we plan on taking a train a couple of times, but we also rented a car so that we can come and go as we please. I have a Euro Train app on my phone that I can book through, along with a RyanAir app....

Not sure yet, we plan on going for a few days but we have not booked a hotel. we were thinking of staying at a hostel. If not I can book via phone, or just walk into some place and book. As it gets closer we may end up booking just to be sure though.

we have a hotel in Berlin at the moment for 2 days

Good lord. Have you ever left Louisiana before? This isn't a big deal. Just show up and wing it. 1000s do it daily.

Hostels would be the way to go if you are on a budget. I also recommend checking out airbnb or even getting a house boat on one of the canals.

When I was in Eastern Europe I airbnb a few times in Budapest and Prague. I paid less than what the hostels cost and had my own place in the best areas.

Much better, Belgium isn't really worth of an entire vacation.

Get some waffles, beer and chocoate and call it a day.

Prague is an option, along with Milan, Switzerland, Nice, and Geneva since we have 4 days planned to go to a random country for a day or two via train or plane.

Is it easy to book on AirBnb on short notice (1 or 2 days) for a short stay (1 or 2 days)?
