The realtor is way too excited about these

Would you pay $160K for this and live in it?

It's the only bedroom. They could simply say "the bedroom"

Give it a few years and “owner’s suit” will be problematic because people use to own slaves.

Buying one is a better investment than renting a 1 bedroom apartment. 660 sq ft is an average one bedroom apartment.

At this point as an <30 year old I’ve abandoned all hope of retiring in the US. I’ll have to spend my golden years elsewhere.

My master bedroom and bath has about as much SF as this whole place.

I wouldn't live in it. But was looking to build something similar for around that price as a cabin in the woods or a remote lake house type of place. Granted that would come with a few acres of property. Would definitely spend weekends there.

So it's a trailer with a loft and a shitty strip of land.

Makes my shitty house seem nice in comparison

660sq ft in these is wasted due to being two story. You could make a lot better use of 660 sq ft in a single story.

600 sq ft condos in New Orleans go for $250ish. I don’t know the area but 160k doesn’t seem bad. How much traditional houses go for in that area?

Not necessarily. A 40 year old could retire on 500k in many countries, not even just shitholes

You can buy a damned fleet of pretty nice travel trailers for $160K. The whole tiny house thing is so incredibly idiotic. $250 a square foot. about 150 new construction homes within a 5 mile radius on Realtor.com for $150 - $200 a square foot, 1400-2000 square feet, 3/2s. Those homes qualify for a conventional mortgage, the little ones won't. The lower price per square foot will also be worth about what they are selling for now from now on, if not a lot more. Once that tiny house is sold the first time and the builder and realtor and lending institute has a mortgage holder on the leash re-selling it is gonna prove damn near impossible at any price.

Also, if the idea is to build cheaply and with a small foot print, why are they detached? Attached row houses of the same size at $75K???? That dog might hunt....
