That maybe true. Dennis and Pete would not know what to do with him.

Jackson would not be successful in a Payton offense. That can't be overlooked here. He wound up in the perfect place for him, because Baltimore designs their offense around his skillset. Payton doesn't do that; he has a particular offense, and he needs a specific type of QB to run it.

Lol he basically designed a whole offense around Taysom Hill. If Hill could throw like Lamar we wouldn’t be stuck with Carr. Come on man.

Taysom Hill but a million times better. Lamar would be a hall of famer if we drafted him.

I'd say it is stupid to think you know one way or the other.

Because you can't know. Lamar Jackson drafted by the Saints is Schrödinger's cat except you can never open the box to find out the truth of the matter.

I hate these comments. We had prime Brees at the time. Every team passes on players, theres no way to know how good some will be. Every team passed on Purdy multiple times.

And again if Brees was still in his prime he would be still playing for the Saints. Brees was not in his prime he will even tell you that. The man can’t even use his right arm anymore.

Teams like the Packers know when it was time to move on.

Yet every team in the league is envious of Green Bay’s QB situation over the last few decades

False. He tailored his playcalling and game plans to Taysom Hill for a I think a 7-2 overall record.

Brees was not in his prime in 2018. Sorry

Father Time caught up to him and he had a noodle arm from Thanksgiving 2018 until he retired.

That’s one of the reasons our offensive production went way down in the second half of the season and we ended up losing to the Rams in the postseason.

I was so happy when we passed on Jackson. I just knew he was gonna be a bust. Not one of my best predictions.

I recall having the same feeling. Thought for sure we were going to draft him.

Serious question why don't more teams do what green bay does. Take a QB let them sit/learn for a year or two. Perfect example 2020 draft, we knew brees was on his way out. Why not get a guy like hurts in the 2nd round and let him learn behind brees for a year or two.

Too many teams trying to maximize that window and make sure they get the most immediate value for the 1st rounders ASAP? From a psychological standpoint, if you don't have a top tier QB; how do you use a 1st rounder and still show confidence in the guy you're starting now?

So did every other team. If it wasn't for the Ravens going back into the first round for the last pick than he would have been a second round choice. I could apply that logic to Mr.Irrelevant Brock Purdy. Every team passed on him for 7 rounds and 49ers took a flyer on him. I don't understand the fixation with the draft. There are a handful of prospects in a decade that are can't miss. Lamar Jackson wasn't one of those. School in a bad conference, bad test results, and had his mom as an agent. The Ravens struck gold and so did the 49ers. Mitchell Trubisky was taken before Patrick Mahommes and look how that turned out. Stop putting so much stock in the Draft ,because half of the leauge is undrafted.
