Even if we took a RB, I doubt it would be Yeldon

Whatever. I'll bump this when Yeldon becomes a superstar.

Probably edge rusher. There are still a few really good edge rushers available but once they go, there's a big drop off. Would love it if Eli Harold is available for us at 44.

WR probably in the 3rd. Tre McBride come on down!

Devin Smith?

Would be a great Kenny Stills replacement. But they need a big bodied WR

Toon did look like he started figuring things out last season FWIW. Plus the 2 practice squad WRs are both big.

I really think top priority is a WR that can pop the top off of a defense and Smith seems to be the best candidate

Ohio State's Devin Smith lead this draft class with 754 yards on passes thrown 20 yards or more in the air. 180 yards more than 2nd place

Chris Conley had better combine measurables than Smith

taller, longer arms, bigger hands,

seems to be a more complete WR with nice speed to boot

Except Chris Conley didn't do shite in college and was viewed as an UDFA before the combine.

Devin Smith was consistently viewed as a late 1st/2nd round WR and and actually been a very good WR on the field, unlike Conley.

And I like Conley. But there's no way I draft him before the 4th round.

I think Smith and Strong are possibilities at 44.

But I'd love to get another LBer like Dawson, Perryman or McKinney and move Anthony outside.

Maxx Williams...Big, fast, non-blocking TE with great hands.

Sounds familiar? Get ready.

On the field?

Michael Sam led the SEC in sacks. Calvin Johnson and Demayrius Thomas put up modest numbers in options offenses

It's not like Smith was that much better anyway

Devin Smith 33/931/12
Chris Conley 37/657/8

A "very good" WR that caught 33 passes on the top 5 passing team in the conference? Im not trying to knock Smith, he has that big play, go and get it ability. T dude has seen a HUGE jump thanks to his exposure and hype in the playoffs, though.

As for Conley, UGA was 2nd to last in pass attempts in the SEC and they led the conference in rushing. They werent a passing team. LSU was the only team with less pass attempts. Malachi Dupre or Trey Fontenot for Travin Dural didnt do shite either...

Even still, Conley was 3rd in the conference in yards per catch and 6th in TDs with 8.

UGA was a running football team. They ranked 90th in passing last year.

I mean was Jimmy ever really a guy who had great hands? I think he could jump and go get it with the best of them, but I wouldn't say he's got lizard hands.

Yes on the field. Nobody thought Conley was going to have the type of combine he had because nobody saw it on the field before. He had an outstanding combine that was a surprise to everyone. But on the field, he was average at best. Like I said, before the combine he was going to be a late draft pick or UDFA. I wouldn't take him before the 4th.

And comparing stats between Smith and Conley isn't a good way to judge them. Smith was a deep threat for Ohio St, and was a great 1 at that. But he didn't get a lot of balls thrown his way. And he still had 931 yards and 12 TDs and averaged 28.2ypc this season. That's outstanding. He caught 4 less balls than Conley, but had 300 yards and 4 TDs more than Conley. That a pretty big difference in stats to me.

Conley is the definition of a work out warrior. He's not a bad WR, but he's not worth any pick before the 4th. There are a lot of WRs still available that I would rather have than Conley.

Oh and Calvin Johnson had 837yards, 888yards, and 1202 yards in college. That's very good production. And DT had 1154yards his last year in college.

I'm all in on DGB. I know the Saints won't touch him, but damn I want a WR skill wise like that.

Just because you didn't know who Conley was before the combine doesn't mean other people didn't

Of course you knew Devin Smith, as he was in prime time many times in the biggest games of the season

UGA was near the bottom of the NCAA in passing offense and Conley still played well. Hard for people to "see it on the field" when the pass game isn't featured

Dt88 and megatron played 6 college seasons combined and came up with 2 1k receiving seasons. These are the best WR in football today. Point is, numbers don't say it all. Scheme has a lot to do with who produces

And there a few WRs I like more than Conley. Smith isn't one

Wouldn't Funchess be a good replacement for Graham?

Ehh, CJ was a 3 time All-ACC and 2 time AA and won the fred biletnikoff his jr year so I would not say modest.
