As I said, cornerback is difficult to predict. You hope to get a free agent similar to what we got with Kennan Lewis.

Cooper would be so legit.

Not at that pick. Only WR we should consider in the 1st would be a CJ or Aj Green type and Cooper, who's good, isn't that. Too many holes to use another 1st on a WR.

I was thinking we sign a veteran that isn't over 30.

Or Jabari Greer. Basically the 2 most consistent corners of Sean Payton era were moderately priced free agents going into their 2nd contracts. No way in hell I'd spend a fist on another cb. Let a guy adjust to the nfl game and see who can actually make it.

I'm obviously biased, but Winston is as talented on the field as just about any QB that's entered the draft in recent history imo. Now obviously there a red flags that could ruin all that, but to me it's worth the risk as a team. Especially if you're like the Saints who could sit him behind Brees for a year or so.

Now given that I still don't think it's time to draft a replacement QB that high.

I thought of him too. He's having an outstanding. It seems his knacks were closing speed and awareness coming into this season.

At 6 foot 5 and 250 he would be a load in run support but I can't find any info of how he is in pass coverage. I know a lot of people loathe the coverage ability of Hawthorne and Lofton.

He had pretty good pass coverage in the LSU game, albeit against Anthony Jennings who isn't really all that great. Still, he's played lights out this season. He definitely brings more to the table than Hawthorne and Lofton. Not sure which of the two cost more, but I'd rather keep Lofton since he's a lot more consistent.

We desperately need a good LB like a Nevarro Bowman/Luke Kuechly type player that can actually change games.

frick yeah!!!!!!!

Need a LB or we need to go O-line in my opinion.

i thought the O-line played well for most of the game today but that last drive was bad.

things all of a sudden got magnified in a bad way for them. But that will be the toughest D-line they face all year I think.

still doesn't mean we shouldn't get younger and cheaper there (especially at guard).

How mad are you going to be when the pick is Todd Gurly. (Considering Ingram will be gone and you have an aging PT, it might happen.)

Not to be an LSU homer or anything, but wouldn't a decent replacement for PT that will most likely fall lower in the draft be Terrence Magee? He has that same type of running that PT has (trucking through defenders) and with more speed as well. He's also great on screens.

if he goes UDFA...by all means give him a tryout.

I have been burned by LSU players in the past...the worst cases have been the can't miss prospects. Laron Landry looked like a HOF'r coming out of college...

Michael Clayton and Dominick Davis/Williams I thought would be good pro's

The list gets worse the further you go.

Fact is some of the best players seem to always come out of nowhere...LSU isn't nowhere.

He was good until he tore up his knee. 3,000 yds rushing in 3 years then it was over.

I want offensive line. With protection Drew wins it at the end today.... Like he has a million other times. Remember when that was his thing?

Very true. Sometimes all of the hype gets to the players since their is so much pressure and expectations that they need to meet, and they end up folding in the process. Besides Kyle Williams, Ricky Jean Francois, Rueben Randle, and Patrick Peterson, there haven't been a lot of impressive LSU alums in that timespan besides the last draft and honey badger.

Just no Safety or TE at all. No WR early. No RB until late even if Ingram isn't re-signed.

If we are picking in the top 10

we have to go front 7 on D.

Potentially locking up a franchise D player will make us better whether the guy is hopefully

Brian Cushing/Patick Willis/Von Miller/Luke Kuechly/Robert Quinn/Greg Hardy etc...

a player of that caliber changes your team and makes everyone around them better.

a presence like that would make Galette, Jordan, and Hicks go off and then its a trickle effect across the defense.

I already posted some decent FA CBs we could look at and then we can focus the rest of our draft on replenishing Offensive stock across the entire line.

We shouldn't be going after a running back until we draft a hoss for our OL, I say. But let's say Melvin Gordon slips to the 3rd round for some reason, what don't grab him up then?

I can't imagine Ingram wants to be here. Obviously it's not up to him, but I'm sure he wants to go somewhere and be the man.
