I can see that mode of thinking.
There are 32 teams. Carolina, Atlanta, San Diego, Seattle, Tennessee, Las Vegas, Washington plus you could have NE and Pittsburgh. So 7 right now, maybe 2 more.

It's always been a crap shoot
Proven commodities don't always pan out
Hot names don't pan out
Sean wasn't the top HC add in 06...but was one of the best coaches in football since that year
Ditka sounded decent on paper and was atrocious here
The problem with the Saints is whoever takes this job has to know it is a long road uphill
However that doesn't change if we keep DA and keep pushing more costs to the future
Loomis or someone needs to start to reign things back before we can move forward again

Add NE to the list.
so 8 total. Doubt Pittsburg fires Tomlin. That franchise is notoriously loyal to their coached.

This 9-8 season is the summit for DA. Don’t think he can improve on that. Keep chopping wood and expect more of the same.

Apparently Loomis knows what he is doing contrary to all the anti fans on this board. No way the Saints would have been able to hire a better coach than the one they already have. Carolina and Atlanta are going to be digging for scraps in their HC search and likely suffer through a few more years of trying to figure out what they have.
Also, for those to young to know, Pete Carroll had something like 6 losing seasons as as HC before he became a winning coach.

If Belichik to Falcons has any truth to it, they can't help but get better. Carolina is a dumpster fire, Tampa is middle of the road. Not many sure-fire coaching options out there to be honest.

Pete Carroll had 1 losing season in the nfl before taking the Seahawks job, took me all of 10 seconds to find that on google.

I’m willing to get in a bidding war for Ben Johnson….

While I can understand why DA will be retained, I am confused by the apparent Saints FO satisfaction with the OC.
I really wonder whether an upgrade at OC is critical to the success of the franchise right now.
Mickey Loomis probably would disagree with me on this.

I don't want to run it back with DA, but I can see why you keep him. We are stuck with this QB and this core at least one more season. You aren't attracting a good coach to manage the inevitable decline. Next season, this job will be way more attractive.
Now, I do worry that Atlanta winds up with a good coach, but the Seattle and New England openings are probably better. Everyone knows the Panthers are going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel due to their dipshit owner.

Only idea they may have is that since Carr showed improvement over the last 4 games it was him needing to learn the system and everything will be better next year…. Hope that miracle happens because they aren’t making any changes

There are going to be several vacancies every year. Black Monday is a thing for a reason. I don't want to hear this excuse next year.

Maybe you should have spent more than 10 seconds.
