I'm not basing this on preseason... But on end of last year. Saints made major changes along the d line. I think it will be a work in progress untill they gell hopefully by mid season things should improve in time for a playooff run.

I tried to defend your outlook in the OP - but this right here torpedoes your cedibility. I can't defend that absurdness.

Bobby hebert also said no way brees can equal what he did in the super bowl year. Guess saying brees has seen is better days was a little strong Alao I defend that the defense will have to gell quickly for the saints to make a super bowl run. And yes the running and defense is all part of it too.

Do yourself a favor and stop listening to Bobby. I love the guy, but he's not a top notch analyst. Larry Holder is way better.

That certainly played a part, but I'd imagine his drinking had a greater effect.

You know it seems a lot of people are judging the defense off the playoff game. Last year we were ranked 4th or 5th, so by no means did we stink it up. I'll judge the "D" by what I see Thursday night.

I'd wait till about the third game at leat. Green bay will put ip 30 on nearly all NFL d"s with a few exceptions. Like the ravens and steelers.
