Why arent baun and ruiz playing?

Ruiz has been out there and will start this week with Peat out.
Baun, I haven't seen. I know he started the season injured. I don't know his status now. I think he's just struggling to get on the field with Demario and Anzalone ahead of him.

Dumb...the original question is legit. He’s played because of injuries.
It is annoying that he wasn’t playing in the first place when our starting guard combo is atrocious.
Payton literally said, “we didn’t draft him to be a backup”.
Baun not playing I understand. We play 2 LBs 80% of the time, and that’s gonna be Davis and Anzalone. When Anzalone gets hurt or leaves in free agency, that will be Baun’s job I’m assuming....if he’s good.

Edit: He played 10% of the snaps week 2. And 84% week 3.
As far as Baun goes, thats a fair question that i dont have the answer to.

How are people surprised by this? Extremely veteran team, stunted offseason work, no preseason. Rookies that weren't drafted to immediately start will get brought along slower than normal.

It’s a good fricking question. Why do we roll out Peat and Easton after what we’ve seen the past few years? Why do we give Peat a huge contract? Why even draft Ruiz in the first place if he ain’t gonna play over these losers? Who is gonna leave cause we have Peat? Armstead? Marcus Williams?

Basically, he got in week 2 and looked good briefly, and they still didn’t start him week 3. He got in cause of another injury and looked good again. Frustrating to see when he can’t be much worse. It ain’t Grubbs/Nicks/Evans/prime Warford, etc. It’s Peat and Easton. Peat has always sucked and is Payton’s latest desperate to say I told u so moment. And Easton is a nobody who has always been below average even in his best season...one of those random nobodys that the fan base has decided to like.

Easton isn’t bad. He has a 56 grade from PFF so far with no penalties or sacks allowed. Plus some position versatility.
