I'd rather take Butler over Harrison at this point.

What do you guys think of Butler's motor?

More concern whether he has good tribal tats.

Bryant McKinnie LT
Louis Delmas Saefty
Adam(pacman)Jones CB (had a good year PFF wise)

I would be more than satisfied with Butler and Lewis as this year's free agency class

Harrison will be a fallback to Butler. Supposedly Harrison is getting minimal interest, so his price is likely dropping. I bet we get one of these two. Just a hunch.

I tend to agree. Butler would be a top notch sign imo. I'm just worried that Pitt isn't gonna let him leave town w/o signing him. If he doesn't sign, then I definitely say the Saints swoop in on Butler no doubt.

If Pitt does sign Butler then I guess I'll be satisfied with Harrison.

@AdamSchefter: Will be real easy for Patriots to front-load an offer sheet for RFA Emmanuel Sanders. If PITT can't match, it would get NE's 3rd-rd pick.

Maybe this will help push butler out of Pittsburg's plan?

Dumervil is obviously the bigger name and more proven, just don't think we have the cap room. I like the potential that Butler has, and if we can get good value it's certainly worth the risk, but I still would rather us find a safety in FA if possible and address the LB in the draft, just the damn uncertainty of who will be there is the problem. FWIW I was lurking on the cowboys forums, they had this thread on Butler. Take it with a grain of salt. Cliff notes: 1. pass rush specialist 2. general sentiment that he contributed positively whenever on the field 3. his talents only suited to 3-4. Also the general hate for Jerry is hilarious. Cowgirls forum thread on Butler

Side note: Did see that Rob Ryan was supposedly very high on the NT Hankins before departing, so that's something of interest for draft purposes.

Yea, but could u imagine if Harrison were here, Goodell wouldnt get further south than the Mason-Dixon line. Harrison and Vilma, anti-goodell presidents.

Man, Harrison is 30 fricking 5 and has 2 knee surgeries and back problems. He's a one season bandaid. Do not want.

If you look at Dumervil's numbers when he was a stand-up OLB in their 3-4, you could definitely argue that he was better than Kruger has been so far. Luckily though, if he's released, he probably won't command half of what Kruger is getting. Well, he might get more than half, but he is the same age as Anthony Spencer and has proven to be a more consistent force in the pass rushing department. The Saints should not hesitate to bring him in on a 3-4 year deal with about $10M guaranteed. Dumervil is an excellent player, and a great fit to jump-start this defensive transition.
