I don't think he's opposed to bringing in a proven guy. Just not another "unknown" so to speak just for the sake of doing it.

This. People are twisting my words. The point is people are getting crazy excited to bring in a guy who isn't all that different than the guys we already have.

I never said I didn't want competition. I would just rather sign an older proven guy then draft a guy in the third or fourth round instead of bringing in someone who is the same as what we already have.

Yeah. I agree. "Oh, we have 2 young guys already. No need for anyone else." Lol. Really?

Wow, you actually quoted me saying something that I never said. That's impressive.

Hmm 2 pass rushers or 4 with one added from FA and one drafted. Let me think about that

Did any of you actually read what I said, or did you all just go by what someone else said I said?

Butler is not "unknown" dumbass. He's coming from where our current DC just left. He's got experience in Ryan's system and he's been productive in it. He's young and can be signed to a long term deal as opposed to some one or 2 year stop gap "older" type player.

Thought it was spelled out pretty simple to understand. Butler is unproven just like the guys we already have.

At first I thought maybe the Broncos and Dumervil would overcome their mistake but just saw this:

quote:

Free agent Elvis Dumervil's player rep is blaming the Broncos for Friday's contract debacle.

As ESPN's Andrew Brandt would say, "there will be lawyers." Dumervil's rep is alleging the Broncos changed the terms of the pay cut at the last minute, delaying the process. Dumervil's camp sent its ill-fated fax at 3:55ET, right as the Broncos were cutting him out of a supposed abundance of caution. The sides have yet to talk since the fiasco. We'd expect many twists and turns over the next 48 hours. Dumervil is looking unlikely to return to Denver.

My bad, I didn't realize he became a star in the few snaps he got behind Ware and Spencer. Clearly he is a proven superstar.

Maybe you should learn the difference between unknown and unproven before you go around calling other people dumb. And maybe you shouldn't put quotes around something you completely made up as if someone else said it.

Well lets have three unproven players and hope one pans out

If this is everyone's thinking, I'm fine with that. What I'm saying is people seem more excited to get a young, good, unproven guy with potential from another team than they are about the young, good, unproven guys with potential from our own team.

By the way, Victor Butler last year, 3 sacks. Martez Wilson, 3 sacks. Junior Galette, 5 sacks. And Galette and Wilson barely played and are better suited for a 3-4 defense.

I know that. I said he is unproven, just like Galette and Wilson. I'm just baffled that some people are way more excited about him than they are our guys .

V Butler 25 tackles in a 3-4
3 sacks in a 3-4

Wilson/Galette 0 tackles in a 3-4 (that I can
find)
0 sacks in a 3-4

Thats the point peple are trying to get through.

peple

That is the point. They are all the same, yet people are way more excited about Butler than our own guys. Seriously, it's like you all just started acting like jacka$$es without even reading what I said.

So it doesn't really matter who we get or how good that person is, as long as they have 3-4 experience, that makes them more exciting than Galette and Wilson?

Im with you about getting over excited about Butler but it would be a great addition to our defense. I personally hope Galette and Wilson shine in the new system. They seem pretty excited about the switch!

Look you asswipe, butler is a good decision for a multitude of reasons that have already been pointed out numerous times in multiple threads. Nobody gives a single frick about some point you are trying to rectify from a precious post. I've seen you lately on this board flaming and taking arguments with other posters for pages at a time. Take your bullshite down a level.

I could read this article over and over... saying how Wilson and Galette could be special!

The funny thing is, I actually said I'm fine with signing Butler. I just don't think we should be more excited for him than for Galette and Wilson's potential as pass rushers in the new defense.
