There's a good chance that you're right. Hopefully he does a good job.

They'll give him at least 1 year to do things his way.

Allen, 100%

He's not getting fired in my opinion unless he's an absolute dumpster fire. Payton is going to want continuity and stability for whatever time he has left in NOLA

Just one year? If they're going to try to finish this thing out with Payton and Brees, he'll be there to the end. Which could be in about three years I think.

I would leave it to Allen. He was a pretty good DC in Denver and has done a good job at developing players like Breaux and Swann also. Some people worry about 3-4 or 4-3 but in reality it doesn't matter. You just need good players. Theer are certain players that play good in any scheme and we only have a handful of them. Jordan, Kikaha, Anthony, and possibly, hopefully, Jenkins. I also feel good about the growth of Davison and Richardson.

Its interesting how coaches look at the long term development of players compared to fans. We are already grading the 2014 and 15 draft where as Payton made the comment other day on how they are just now seeing how the 2010 and 2011 drafts are starting to pan out. Most coaches know you have to give several years, not just 1 or 2 to get a feel for a player. For example, DT, a position that takes the longest for a player to develop going from college to NFL.

We have a decent core of young players on D, but as of now, no depth, and no second or third pass rusher outside of Jordan. I believe Kikaha will develop into a pass rusher also, but he is a LB and they aren't gonna rush him every play. We just need another heavy defensive draft, especially on the line. We also need to realize it may not pay off for a few years with 2016 draft. That's why its important to have guys like Kevin Williams and hold on to guys like Jenkins also. Need the veterans in the front 7 on D.
