Saints were driving down the field to get into position to score right before the half. Brees was sacked and this really slowed down our chances to get 6. On the replay of the play though, it seems obvious that the defender's helmet strikes Brees' helmet. I don't have a video of it, but it very clearly was helmet to helmet contact.

I know that I, along with a large number of Saints fans, were frustrated with the roughing the passer that extended the Panthers drive after it appeared that we stopped them.

Not sure if anyone could provide a replay of that Brees sack? But did anyone notice the helmet to helmet contact when Brees was hit? It felt like thet refs were assisting the Panthers by ignoring Brees getting leveled, but then going over the top to protect Cam.

I am happy with the win. I noticed it when it happened and thought it was clearly helmet to helmet. Figured if I saw it that someone on here would have been on top of it.

I didn't notice it but I'm kind of glad they didn't call it. I'm getting to the point that I almost don't like when we get a pussy call after a hit on brees. I'm just sick of every other hit on the qb being called

I just rewatched the play. Brees puts his helmet down just before being sacked. They may have been some contact, but it was minimal.

I think what really killed that drive was clock management. They really let the clock run down on that whole drive. I understand that before the 2 minute warning, but they didn't really pick up the tempo after the 2 minute warning until it was too late. The way we were moving the ball, we could have picked up a TD before halftime.

Thank you for the investigative reporting. Now I can let it go.

Got any examples of this?

If they call every single one, they're doing better than they are now, but the NFL will slowly turn into two-hand touch.

If they call only half, their biased, but the NFL still has some hope left.

I guess my examples were the two instances that I mentioned above. I thought I saw Brees' head get snapped back on his sack right before the half (disputed by Patrick O). Obviously, the call that went against us when it seemed like good defense and we stopped them on 3rd down only to be assessed the roughing penalty which continued their drive.
