What does this board have against Jameis?

I think a lot of people see his goofy locker room antics and think he’s some dumb arse or something. Bro had a 4.0 in college and his wonderlic is 1 point off Peyton Manning’s. Pre injury jameis was trending top 10 in qbr and tuddies. Only 3 picks.

How can Saints fans watch Ian Book and Trevor fricking Semien and hate on Jameis?

He's definitely not a dumb guy. Just goofy.

He choses to lead differently than guys like Drew Brees. I think a lot of Saints fans dont see that. Sometimes cutting up is just what a team needs. Jameis can get serious too tho

I’m fine with the former but shaky on the latter.

He’s a fine bridge. He doesn’t cost picks. He’s not a super bowl guy. He’s not the “plan a”

He's a pretty good football player but you'll never convince me he's smart. That 4.0 is in "social sciences" btw.

I think most of this board is pretty supportive of Jameis outside of a few retards who have trash takes on everything. Obviously, Watson is a better QB and getting him would have been great. But not at the price Cleveland paid.

Well plan A cost 230 million guaranteed in 5 years. Jameis is plan B. I really don’t want to keep this alphabet going.

Not so sure Winston is plan b. I still think we could be making a play for jimmy g or mayfield. I'd be fine with any of the 3 if the cost isn't crazy

He’s not a franchise QB (right now)

If we didn’t land Watson he’s next on my list based on price and upside.

Winston played better than both with significantly less talent last season. Stop it.

If we were sold on jameis, he'd be locked up now imo.

He already has a contract offer sitting in his living room.

Two of them. Indy and Nola offered him before the Watson sweepstakes even started.

I like Winston, but you don't have a real offer if we actively pursuing Watson. Think about it - could Winston have signed that contract Thursday night?

Yes he could have. He clearly doesn’t like the offer and wanted to wait until the Watson sweepstakes were over to renegotiate. Now we need him more than he needed us a few days ago. Leverage.

You think he could've signed with the saints before Watson chose the browns? I don't agree with that. Now, he probably could sign that offer

Totally fine with Jameis for a few years. He’s not a “franchise qb” imo but that’s ok. He’s good enough.

What I think happens is they give him a 3ish year deal that can easily be gotten out of in year 3, and sometime in the next 3 years they use some of the draft capital they would have used on Watson to move up in the draft for “the guy”.

Probably not this year (unless they fall in love with Malik). I think they load up on mostly offense this year to try and make the run with Jameis

News broke like two days into the Watson sweepstakes that Jameis already had an offer from us that he could sign.

So if Thursday Winston would've signed, we were out on Watson?
