Yeah, he's an UFA so I think it's kinda up to him.

we wouldn't get anything for him in a trade. probably will be a last cut in preseason for undrafted rookie x then brought back week 3 when all the RB are dead

Don't see anyway we keep him between Ingram, Khiry, Spiller, and Cadet

I don't see a point keeping both Khiry or Hightower. You want yourself a "pounder", you get the one who is cheaper.

Ideally, Spiller gets shipped off and we just roll with Ingram, Cadet, and Khiry/Tim.

Hightower stays and that's final. I'll hear no more of this...

i mean i'd be cool with it.

i don't know how many running backs we'll carry next year but i mean a lot of teams went through injuries at the position this year. So I mean its not just not bad luck for us. And really its not like we hit a wall when Ingram went down either b/c Hightower played well so I'd say we had good luck.

would have been even better had we been able to get Cadet back sooner since Spiller wasn't doing anything really.

You people are complaining about us giving ingram a contract that is less than 1/38 of the salary cap per year, and now you want to spend even more money on a backup for him when there is plenty of options already here... Alrighty

so is Ben Watson. Had a surprising season but I see where Ladarius Green is free agent too. Would be a good get in my opinion.

Fact is, they can clear the salary cap if they wanted to keep both. No sane team is going to break the bank (i.e. 6mil+) for Watson when he's one foot into retirement.

Realistically, 2yr/9mil with 4mil signing bonus would be enough for him imo. That'd put him at 14th highest between Delanie Walker (4.375mil) and Lance Kendricks (4.625mil)

Why not keep Hightower, Robinson, Cadet, and Murphy? Hightower looked like a complete back throughout his playing time. We could try to trade Ingram to the Cowboys. Apparently Jerry Jones loves Ingram and Dallas can't keep a healthy back typically. On the other hand, Mark Ingram can't stay healthy either.

Because it might be foolish to hitch our wagons to Tim Hightower based on 5 games. I would be happy if the Saints found a way to keep him on the team, but if there's no room after Khiry Robinson is healthy then there just isn't any room.

He will look for the best deal he can get. If that means taking less to stay then thats what he will do. We don't have the cash to win a bidding war with anybody
