Outside of the niners, there are no dominating teams. If the Broncos win tomorrow then we're basically one game out.

And yes, the Cowboys and Patriots losing makes me feel just a tad better!

Giants were a wild card team twice, Pitt as well...Saints were 13-3 last year...there is hope but things have to change real soon.

I think it's more 8-8 to 10-6 myself. 9 or 10 wins can get you in the playoffs.

I can respect this. It seems to be very open in the NFC. I think at worst we are looking at 7-9, and I'd say best 12-4. There are at least positives to take away from the game today. This is still a very talented team.

I'm going to say 10-6 is realistic Brees will get his timing back with the receivers it will just take a few more games.

We cut down on the penalties, and improved the run game. But still had the turnovers, amongst all sorts of other continuing problem areas I wont even begin to get into.

The past 2 seasons we were good enough that if we shot ourselves in the foot we could still beat the average teams easily enough, and sometimes beat the good teams. But now we have to play mistake free, or well enough, to beat the average teams.

We can't afford to leave points out there any longer settling for FG's or drive killing negative plays. But most of all we can't gift wrap the other team easy points from turnovers.

I think we continue to improve, even if it's just a small amount, and might get it all together at some point on offense.

Was very pleased with the running game, and the improvement in play calling today must be pointed out. Carolina at home plays us tough, and I had this game as a potential loss anyway. The defense absolutely must improve, it really can't get any worse. It's been noted that Spags in NY had a defense give up 80 points in it;s first 2 games, then improved significantly leading to a Superbowl. We don't have the talent that D line had, but this defense can at least become serviceable, and that's what we need. We were completely out of sync in week 1, but today was much improved. I also think Vitt will get more out of these guys. We need to get a few wins in this six game stretch though.

We need Patrick healthy because White is just plain not ready.

We need to give Galette/Wilson more chances and cut down completely on McBride, and start giving Smith less reps. We need to give Hicks looks at DT. Smith and Ellis just aren't getting it done, we just need to see what the other guys can offer. What about Tom Johnson?

I don't know what the deal with Hawthorne is, maybe he's injured, I really don't know what to do with that position.

Not counting individual play that is just not up to par, but these are areas we could work with by just subbing in different players on our roster.

But we will not. DB's can't cover and I do not know where the LB's are.

Looking at the schedule and the way they're playing, a 9-7 mark would be awesome.

If there was reson for otimism I could run with ya. I thought thee was reason for optimism still after the Redskins game. I don't see optimism in the equation any more. We NEED to hit 10 wins - very tall order right now.
