As of week 8:

Watson:
Games - 8
Receptions - 38
Yards - 472
TDs - 3

Graham:
Games - 8
Receptions - 38
Yards - 450
TDs - 2

Before I looked up the stats while I knew Graham had a slow start, I thought for sure he'd still have better production than Watson. Low and behold, they have the same amount of catches, basically the same yardage with a small lead for Watson, and only 3-2 in TDs for Watson.

I believe Graham will likely still finish with better, but if Watson keeps getting as many looks as he is, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he does.

would you change your thoughts on the subject if i told you the Saints are on pace to throw the ball 700x this season?

and that the Seahawks are on pace to throw it 480?

Or Watson has 48 targets to Jimmy's 54.

Watson has his career year and helps lead Saints to playoffs.

Jimmy has year he wishes he could forget along with the various death threats from fellow teammates.

Watson will catch the ball more times for the Saints this year, that's all that matters.

I get that Jimmy pissed a lot of people off with that tweet he had but i really dont get the constant comparison and borderline wishing ill will on the kid. You would think he demanded a trade of left in free agency. The guy woke up one day and had been traded from the team. It wasnt his choice. Can you really get the last laugh when the joke was always at Jimmy's expense?

That would be me but I did say at least 40. It was a floor not a ceiling. That said I thought the ceiling would be around 60-65. He may pass that.

and you were scared to go out on that limb. Yeah, whenever i choose a floor, i would say up to infinity and beyond to cover my arse after that.

or that Jimmy had 71, 74, and 62 targets thru 8 games his last 3 years in New Orleans.

They aren't used the same regardless of who has more targets right now. More dropbacks= more chances to get open to catch the ball.

All the more reason it was a poor trade on their part. Got rid of your best OLineman, gave up a first, and got a player that does not fit your scheme at all.

But I'm not. I just said I didn't think he'd go over 60-65. So while I was right about the floor I may be wrong about the ceiling.

I'm not trying to parade around like I'm only right. I admit my wrongs. Like Junior.

I thought Watson's ceiling was 40-45. Glad I was wrong. We're going to need a TE in this draft though, considering that Josh Hill isn't doing shite.

I hated the trade when they made it. hated it even more after our 1-3 start.

but after the last few weeks of seeing how we are finally settling in with life after Jimmy... the trade is looking a lot better. No?

having said that. a big pass catching weapon is still our top need in the off season.

Watson has been one of the biggest surprises for me this year. Couldn't be happier for the guy

Watson is a Free Agent at year's end possibly mulling retirement.
