Allow me to take a slightly different track.

I am not a big fan of all that SAS writes.
That said.

One sound bite of one voice is drowned out for me by the utter avalanche of a loud and angry 24hrs a day 7 days a week deluge of vitriol and condemnation directed straight at the Saints. The entire country was quick to judge and convict my Saints in an instant led by people just like SAS going about and making their living. Good for him I quess. Now an apology.
Good career move perhaps?

So we can't ever get an even ledger when it comes to stories committed to reporting our innocence vs stories proclaiming our guilt and that reeks.

But whatcha gonna do?

Well to the media at large from a small market town...

Stephen A worried vilma is coming for the media next. Glad he apologized to vilma but he bought the bs of it being all coaches and management instead of no bounty at all.

Did anyone else find it hilarious that, after going on for over 4 minutes, SAS said "I have nothing to say other than I apologize"

Yeah the reason why he was so on about Vilma was because he had bashed Vilma in particular for his handling of the whole situation. Now he sees Vilma played it right and was right all along.

Yep. He just went up a notch in my book. That puts him at notch 1. I still dont care about what he has to say. But it was nice to see someone who many people do watch hear this guy back up our players. Makes our organization seem less evil. Which is how ESPN painted us when this first came out.

I have never given two shits about Steven A Smith, and I can't stand Skip Bayless even more. But I have HUGE respect for someone in the National Media that was FINALLY man enough to come out and apologize on air.

Now why is Peter King all of a sudden so silent. He led the charge with SI when they put him on the cover for this whole thing. I wish vilma made them a party with goodell in the lawsuit.

I contacted the sports editor when the ruling came down and urged him to give the same play to this story as he did when the Saints were originally unfairly crucified.

I'm happy to report that the story ran on the front page here yesterday.

We are still talking about the same network that leaked the Gregg Williams audio and ran the Mickey Loomis wiretapping story.

Too little, too late, ESPN.

Peter King ?@SI_PeterKing
RT @Lifendz: Did u apologize to Vilma yet? ... For what? Covering a story?

What a fat sack of shite he is.

If you don't remember, when the Saints signed their 3 LBs in the offseason, King tweeted something to the effect of "Curtis Lofton...
David Hawthorne...Chris Chamberlain...get the message Jonathan Vilma?" Practically mocking the guy.

frick Peter King.

ETA: LINK

King's tweets back in April. Apparently mocking a player falls under the umbrella of "covering a story"

Still laughing at Vilma's response to him.

bullshite. He said Vilma in particular was innocent but said nothing of the innocence of the other players and/or the Saints.

To Hell with Stephen A. Smith, ESPN, and any other media organization that still reports the Saints being guilty without any evidence whatsoever.
