My only guess is that, if they thought he was really good at it, they might let him return some during the playoffs. He has 3 career plays at punt returner, all were fair catches, so I don't really get the point.

Yup! This is especially true since we haven't been hearing too many good things about the LB position. Hope RR can pull a rabbit out his arse when the bad guys start running the ball.

He has great hands. He'd probably just be the guy when it's going to be a pooch kick inside the 20 and it's almost an automatic fair catch. Lance Moore had that role.

The NFL isn't about brownie points and getting your Rudy on. It's about determining the 53 men with the best skillset to help you win. If they feel he's there then he's earned it.
