Trading Brees still an awful idea.

the best move for the Saints since the day they signed him is to keep Brees for as long as they can and just try to make wiser decisions in building around him.
Good reminder to the "grass is greener" crowd. We gotta ride the Hall of Famer as long as we can.

Not trading Brees, but not having him eat up $30 million is the key.

LOL How do ya propose that when he already is a cap hit of $18mil for 2018?

You mean 2018? It's not on the cap yet (only $6 mil is). If we resign him before free agency it'll stay that way.
But, if he gets a $24 milish per deal then he'd effectively be on the cap for $30 mil the next 3 years. It's unavoidable.

We owe him 18 million next season and he's not even under contract.
