Not a good move. No disrespect to Tony G. But we have two good TEs.

I fail to see how this would benefit the Saints in any way.

They would never trade him to us, but what about even up for a running back, Ingram for Gonzo!

Since Payton owns the Falcons cant he just call them up and tell them to do it! Why does Smith care? They are going to fire him anyway!

We shouldn't be giving up a 6/7th rounder for a half season rental. Ben Watson is good enough.

Seriously??? There are plenty of reasons why we won't get Gonzalez but a 6th or 7th rounder sure as hell isn't one of them.

In a hypothetical world he'd be a huge upgrade/match up problem for other teams in our offense and would make us a better offense and team.

Could you imagine double tight end set with Colston on the strong side outside and Sproles going in motion to the other side. Holy shite you would be so screwed on defense.

Are you serious? If you are, you're wrong on about 4 levels.

He's on pace for 1090 yards and 10TDs. And there's no fricking way Graham would be upset about it. As good as he is, Gonzo is the best TE of all time and surely has some tricks to teach him. As for whether or not Atlanta would trade him to us, I don't see why not. Their season is done and Gonzo will retire at the end of the season, so they don't have to worry about him next year when they hope to be back in the playoffs. We'd have to restructure someone's contract and push more money into future seasons, though, which we've already done with a handful of higher paid players. We're making a serious SB run this year, so yeah, I would do a 5th for him. Look at how well Gronk/Hernandez was working for NE.
