So is he "the man" going forward? Certainly looks the part, but still assuming this is a mixed backfield, but Hightower looks better than Ingram ever really has, jmo

He's certainly not the "man" considering Ingram's contract and Robinson's already proven productivity. But I could definitely see him in the Mike Bell role coming in fresh late in games. Would really like to keep him on.

Perhaps but he looks better than Ingram IMO. He is more decisive to the hole while Ingram seems to stutter step

Would love him to take Spiller's spot

Typical you.

ETA: And to add some stats to make you look even more foolish:

Attempts:
Ingram 166
Hightower 96

Yards:
769
375

YPA:
4.6
3.9

Long:
70
26

Runs of 20+:
5
1

TD:
6
4

The only knock is that Ingram had one fumble where Hightower had none.

Well he can certainly do what CJ was doing which is next to nothing, but he is not the style of back to do what CJ was brought here to do I agree with one of the above poster's comparison to Mike Bell.

To the poster claiming Hightower looks better than Ingram, you are just silly and obviously have not paid much attention to Ingram the last 2 and half years. The first 2 and a half years of his career you would be correct, but not the last

This guy has been either a backup or part-time starter his entire career. He couldn't distance himself from Beanie Wells in Arizona. He had an injury that kept him out of the NFL for 3 seasons. He's about to be 30. Now based on a 3-game sample size and 3.9 yards per carry, you're ready to crown his arse?

I know you guys hate Ingram, but damn.

Surprise surprise

Take the glasses off man. Ingram had the 3rd most yards in the league and 4.7 YPC when he went down

Hightower has averaged 4.5 and 4.1 YPC In these two games against two of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL

Hightower is good and filled in fine but Ingram is a far superior player and well worth what we pay him (4m a year = 1/38 of the current salary cap. Chump change)

Look, I'll say it...I definitely think Hightower looked as good as Ingram this season and I have nothing but respect for Mark Ingram. I don't think I'm offending either player by saying that.

I agree and I was pleasantly surprised at how hard Hightower ran. It was a feel-good story for sure. One can compliment both players.

But the typical "I hate Ingram because Bama" fans can shut up

He didn't though. There isn't a meaningful stat that you could use to show it.

I'm happy for Hightower that he has made the most of this opportunity, but let's not get carried away.
