Looks like we will be super thin at LB.

Good thing Mariota doesn't actually read defenses / have progressions, he won't even look at the RB underneath

to Dannell Ellerbe:

It seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind.
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in.

Practice off for personal reasons. Happens from time to time.

Kikaha will be missing the first game of his NFL rookie season. He injured his ankle in the third quarter of last Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Ellerbe hasn't practiced since aggravating a hip injury on Oct. 25 at Indianapolis. Earlier in the year, he missed three games with a toe injury.

Humber suffered a hamstring injury in the first half last Sunday and didn't practice all week.

With three linebackers out, the Saints might have to be more creative in their defensive personnel.

Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan said Kasim Edebali and Obum Gwacham could see more action. Gwacham, a rookie acquired on waivers from the Seattle Seahawks, has been inactive in seven of eight games this year.

The Saints have also added free-agent linebackers Jo-Lonn Dunbar and Mike Mohamed in the last two weeks.

random-

That's a hard hit. Gwacham & Edeballi gots be one of the most out there names for LBs. Always liked Ellerbee. Thought the Saints should have got him after Baltimore. BUT ongoing injuries has been his most identifable MO since then.

and wow, this is one of the more thoughtful NOLA Saints articles in a while...

reminds me... how refreshing to hear of a Saints rookie in the discussion of the very best rookie defenders! No homerism either, he's getting national recognition-

THREE MOST DISRUPTIVE ROOKIES
Hau'oli Kikaha, OLB, New Orleans Saints

2015 stats (8 games): 38 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 forced fumbles.
I love the way he plays the game. He has very strong hands to torque and turn OTs, and his motor never stops. He looks like a legitimate double-digit sack artist. There are times when he loses sight of the ball, but he's been a force for a struggling Saints defense.

Prime opportunity for Rob Ryan haters to have a field day if these injuries really show this week.

Considering last week probably not the best time to be calling out Rob Ryan haters.

Well, I wasn't exactly calling them out u
But I also don't care. More concerned with the fact that we can't cover a tight end ever, odd luck tip passes or not.
