It was like watching the opening ceremonies at the Olympics, but every country had the same flag.

Bump. I also missed last night. Saw Mett's stats and on paper, it looks like he destroyed us. Also penalties are alarming as well.

Overall how did our starters look?

Mettenberger did what he can do, throw strikes against a vanilla D. When teams gameplan him his lack of pocket awareness and mobility will be his down fall just like last night.

Baited into a pick by Sunseri, holding the ball too long and fumbling after the sack from Jordan.

I've never seen a QB not be able to feel a CB blitz like Mettenberger. Dude's oblivious to pressure. He did make one nice escape. Great arm. I just don't think he can play when teams are disguising coverages and bringing heat.

We were extremely sloppy. Lots of penalties.

Sunseri, Cam Jordan, Ingram, and Joe Morgan all looked great.

Keenan Lewis limped off.

Graham dunked twice.

Sean Payton: extremely upset after game.

What kind of crap is this?
You do realize it was only his second game in the NFL....right? He looked better than McCown and he's been playing for 10 years.

As for the game, it was hard to watch. It seemed like there was a flag on every play. It was very sloppy and undisciplined. Cadet showed he has great hands but is still tentative going where he is suppose to go. Sunseri looked like a veteran; big hits and was always around the ball. Last point, unless the wheels fall completely off, Griffin is your #2 QB.

He's also not completely over an ACL tear.

He looked really good imo.

yeah, Griffin helped himself a lot last night I thought.

made some sharp passes.

should have had better numbers. There were 3 dropped passes that I saw.

Cooks dropped a TD (looked like he gave good effort though) just a tad to far for him I guess.

Josh Hill had one hit off his hands. The pass was true as there was a defender in good coverage and Griffin put it where only Hill had a chance to get to it.

Seantavius Jones dropped another. He should have had it. Not a tough catch at all.

Regarding the penalties...you guys have watched other preseason games this year, right?

All games have been like this due to points of emphasis.

The pass actually bounced of Seantavius Jones's chest pad. That's how good of a throw it was and how bad of an attempted catch it was.

I am starting to get worried about our secondary. Is anyone going to be healthy for the start of the season? Right now...teams are passing on us at will.

It's all precautionary

Byrd will be back tommorrow

Lewis should be fine for opener

It was vanilla D and mostly backups

I also thought Stanley Jean-Baptiste looked pretty good stepping in for Lewis. Had one pick (part luck I get it, and almost blew it on the attempted pitch back), but should have had another as well. Vinnie Sunseri amazed me. I hated that draft pick at the time, but he's playing really well. Seems like he has a knack for the ball and makes sounds tackles.

Our starting defense is still really shaky, IMO. I understand we're missing players, but aside from our d-line and K. Vaccaro, I've been unimpressed by the starting group.

Ryan Griffin looked awesome-ish. His deep ball really impressed me. I'm really hoping he wins that backup job over McCown, who didn't have a bad game either.

Joe Morgan really helped his case for making this team. If he comes out this week and makes the same kind of impact, I think he's a lock. Ingram looked like the pro-bowl type runner that he can be given the right opportunity. He looks 5x better than any other back we have right now, IMO.

Still can't believe Cooks dropped that perfectly thrown 55 yarder from Griffin in the end zone. Could have easily caught it as his arms were half bent.

Super sloppy. But, looks potentially to easily be the most talented team we've ever had imho. There are going to be some very tough cuts.

Should Cook have caught that ball? Maybe; it would have been a spectacular play. He would have had to leave his feet to get to it and receivers are always taught not to do that.

It was a nicely thrown ball but was no where near being a perfect pass. IMO

It did look like he short armed it a bit.

And RGIV has really looked sharp. As CSP said he's learned to step up in the pocket and buy a xtra second. Congrats to him.

Having Morgan and a healthy Stills is gonna open so much more underneath it won't be funny.

If it's a touchdown, you lay out for it...Not a big deal because it's preseason, but in a real game he better lay out for that ball. (And if I'm remembering correctly, he did leave his feet for it. He just didn't extend his arms for it.)
