Yes it does!

They had two weeks to prepare and did a great job. The sky isn't falling!

no but we would have to collapse not to make it to the playoffs.

saints would have to go 1-3 to not make it to the playoffs

well maybe 2-2 with somehow the Eagels being the wild card and the tiebreakers not working in our favor.

arse-kickings occur in the NFL sometimes. We did the same thing to New England when we won the Super Bowl (I know, not the most positive comparison). Same situation- facing a good team at home, wanting a statement game in primetime. Moment of glory, etc. The Saints tonight, like the Patriots then, viewed it as... a road game.

And that's all it is. The 2 games with the Panthers are the big games, not this tonight. It would have been nice to win, but not the end of the world; and teams that get scorched like us tonight tend to come out the next time around and win big.

While I really wanted a victory tonight to help ensure home field, you are totally correct. Winning the Division is paramount no matter what.

We got out coached out hustled and out played.
Hope to meet them again in the playoffs.

I remember some team on primetime last year doing the same thing we did last night and getting to the Super Bowl. They also played @Seattle. It happens to every team. Seattle will get theirs eventually.

I mean i dont think this is like 09. This is its own season. And the offense certainly isnt near what it was in 09. But we did lose out final 3 games, two of them at home and two of them to divisional opponents.

We got embarrassed last night sure, but you move in.

We still could potentially get a bye which is huge.

Three of the last four are inside, including this one. That should be enough to get a bye. Still need someone to go to Seattle and win.

Second best team in the NFC got turned into roadkill at Seattle. Really the team that has the best chance to beat Seattle at home in the playoffs will be the 9ers, but the only way for that to happen (with the Saints still in the playoff picture) is for the 49ers to win the 5 seed, win the WC round, and match up with the 1 seed in the divisional round. Which would mean they would have to have a better ending record than Carolina (or us). If we lose the division to Carolina (could happen), we'll probably be the 5 seed, meaning we get to play Seattle in the divisional round if we get past the wildcard round.
