The Saints are now the measuring stick for greatness in the NFL. This SI piece compares the AFC South teams to the Saints and finds them all lacking, including the vanquished Colts.

Hasn't the NFC had 9 different teams represented in the Superbowl in the last 9 yrs. I don't know if I would say they are quite a dynasty just yet.

I don't think he's calling them a dynasty, just the example of how to get to the Super Bowl. The AFC South teams don't have all the pieces in place like the Saints did this year.

Aside from Minn, I don't think any other team in the NFL had all the pieces.

Not to give those bastards any credit, but:

quote:

The Saints beat Eli Manning, Tom Brady and Tony Romo in the regular season before knocking off Kurt Warner, Brett Favre and Peyton Manning in the playoffs.

something here does not fit.

ive thought about this and how it will affect how other teams scheme next year. after tampa won it all they talked about was defense, it wins championships and all. if they take a cue from payton.....we oughta see some interesting football next year

Yeah, I noticed that. But the rest of it seemed OK.
