I'll take that you meant it's not a fashion statement for players, because it most certainly is for fans, who will also be saddled with these new versions as well.
Just curious, you actually like them? You seem pretty defensive over the "they suck" comments.
Would you wear one with a wide neck like that in public to see a game? Keep in mind, you might need pads for it to look right.
ETA: I gotta admit, they do have some Flair to them!

I still remember that awful Vikings MNF game (right on the heels of the heartbreakers in Washington and Denver) where Frerotte threw up this awful duck off his back foot and David was there in coverage no problem, but dumbass KK is tracking the ball, has no idea where the Vikings WR is, and just SLAMS into him drawing the PI penalty and setting up the game winning FG for Minny. I think it was late in regulation and we were either tied or winning by a couple of points. That play lost the game (along with Gramatica's missed FG for the 2nd week in a row).

I'm thinking that gold would've looked much better on the away jersey collar for some reason. That black makes it look atrocious!

The new multi-color collar on the Nike jersey was something requested by the players. When the NFL sent out the survey in 2006 on what players would like to see changed in their uniforms, a more relaxed and comfortable stretch collar was requested by most of the league. It it designed to prevent the jersey from coming off the shoulder pad as much as it has in the past as well.

Aaron Brooks: I was at the "We want Jake game." I remember the end of that season well. Is that Ricky? - I would frickin kill Ditka if i had the chance, as for Ricky, he has nothing to do with how much shite we gave up for him. No one could have lived up to the expectations New Orleans put on him. No matter how he did here it wasnt going to be enough and the city gave this guy way to much shite much of which he didnt deserve(Sound like any other heisman trophy winning trade to the Dolphins from us) He was a goofy guy with some really funny querks,he had some nice yards when he was here, and i cant hate the guy for being injured all the time. We could have had much worse guys than him in the backfield. I'll defend Ricky without a problem.
Kasevaharn - You win this one. I wont even try. I had pains watching this dude attempt to play defense or whatever he called his pathetic attempts at limpdickinging around on the field.
Cleeland- Cant really remember a reason to hate this guy, so I'll put him in the "Saints players i cant remember or never knew, so i cant pass judgement on them, but they donned a black and gold uniform and paved the way for the franchise's future glory, so they get my respect for doing" so column.
