Certainly one of the signature wins in the Sean Payton era. Still, no game is perfect.

-muffed punt
-onside kick lost
-missed FG
-one KO returned 34yds

currently 22nd in punt return average & 30th in kickoff return average. Don't have the coverage stats at hand but they haven't been special.

Over time (since promoted in '08) I'm questioning McMahon more as a STC. He was a teammate of Payton at Eastern Illinois.

We have been consistently poor on Special Teams for awhile now IMO.

Yeah....we've overhauled the defense, so I think his attention needs to be upgrading that coaching. I mean we've pretty damn bad at that for awhile now.

Obviously Sproles feels like he can break one at any moment, but I don't even remember what his last return TD was. I really hope in this draft we nab someone who can take over the return duties who's a little more electric.

for someone who set an all-purpose record just 2 years ago, sproles has surely been quiet on ST the past year and a half.

Might as well get the Cowboys special teams coach to add to the collection of HC/OC & DC.

I'm not; I've wanted him replaced for a while.

But then last year I was questioning Bill Johnson as our D line coach so what do I know

understandable for kickoffs. doesn't explain the shitty punt returns, or lack of.

A lot of people have wanted him gone for awhile but it's pretty obvious it isn't going to happen given his ties to Payton.

ST had a bad night but they haven't stuck out as a weakness until this week. Aside from Morestead they haven't excelled either

Out of all those the missed fg bothers me the most. The long run, can happen to anyone. Sproles losing it was uncharacteristic, and the onside was a surprise onside which is like 70% effective when attempted?

Hartley has been consistent with missing which is a huge concern.

ST is solid enough that they tend not to hurt us but they don't really do anything to help us.

I wish we had a more dynamic return guy for punts and kickoffs. Sproles is small so he goes down at the slightest bit of contact. He is usually very secure with the ball with the exception of last night, so that's always a plus.

The new rule has pretty much ended the position of kickoff specialist.
