This, not "because LSU," but because our current CBs are a pile of shite.

I thought he started out well in Seattle. Must have got passed up by younger player?

He wasn't all that good at LSU, regardless of how much Sherman talked him up, he wasn't that good at Seattle, and he certainly won't get any better coming here.

This is just not true. They just have very little to no experience. I thought they did pretty well Sunday considering what they were up against and the fact that we had zero pass rush.

They did ok but got gashed by big plays. The big play is going to happen a lot.. really wish we had at least one shutdown corner or safety

I am for trying any CB who might help. The situation is pretty dire so far as I can tell.

My only hope is that these guys are so young that they could improve a good deal. Also, perhaps we could scheme a little better and possibly even blitz more. At least they would not have to cover for as long.

Honestly Tharold is built for safety. Im surprise no one has tried him there. Well obviously he wouldn't see the field in Seattle, but he's 6'3 200lbs with excellent range and 4.5 speed. He sucks arse at man, but is great at being a playmaker with the ball in the air.

Not true at all. They gave up two pass plays over 20 yards.

The first was a 43 yarder to Cooper on a deep crossing route that was running away from Byrd (who Allen played way too deep all game) and the under defenders weren't deep enough (basically Allen's play design left a HUGE arse hole that the crosser was designed to exploit).

The second was at least partly on the CB, a 25 yarder to Crabtree, but I believe this was on a Carr scramble.

The only other pass over 10 yards was an 18 yarder to Walford, which I also think was on a scramble.

For the most part Allen's plan was working, giving up nothing deep (save those two plays) and EVERYTHING short.

This is why we had no rush. He played everyone too deep to not get beat deep, and they nickel and dimed us to death.

fair rotoworld assessment-

An oft-talked about prospect, Simon is a fourth-year pro who's made only five career starts, all of which came in 2014. He was limited to one game by a toe injury last season, and has had major injury issues. Simon drew hyperbolic praise from Richard Sherman this summer, but is 25 with a résumé that doesn't match the hype
