Yeah, I was also looking at those same 3 guys. Hicks is probably the lesser talent of the 3, but also probably has the least baggage from an injury/attitude standpoint. Wouldn't mind any of the 3 if the contract is right.

Poor baby, getting upset cause I destroyed your stance then explained the point you were trying to make better than you.

Right, cause Payton wasn't the person who brought Shockey to the Saints? You tried being a smarta$$ and just keep making yourself look worse with every post.

42 receptions, 775 yards, 18.5 ypc, 9 td's in 12 games at 22 years old. Definitely a never has been.

Anthony Hargrove is laughing at your opinion.

wait, you were serious.

Hargrove grew up in a homeless shelter then had his mom die at 9 years old. He had a drug problem and we picked him up AFTER he spent over a year cleaning up his act.

Britt has done nothing to clean up his act. Comparing the two guys is utterly ridiculous. One guy recognized his problem and set out to fix it. The other doesn't think he has a problem.

Not a history with CSP taking head cases. Zero in fact.
Maybe that will change one day.

Yeah, why would anyone compare one guy with problems to another guy that had problems? Not sure what I was thinking. It's not like Hargrove was completely out of the league because of his issues when the Saints signed him.

Jeremy Shockey was one of the biggest loud mouth head cases in the league. Anthony Hargrove was suspended for an entire year for all of his issues. I don't know where you guys get your information.

He was reinstated in February and the Saints signed him in May. So he wasn't completely out of the league. He spent his suspension taking care of his problem and wasn't a complete POS to everyone around him.

They aren't close to being similar situations. Kenny Britt thinks he has done nothing wrong, yet has had 9 incidents with police. Hargrove spent his own money to address his problems and clean up his act.

After completing the mandated three-month program, Hargrove chose to stay seven more months. He stripped the varnish from his world in daily therapy sessions and worked out regularly with another counselor, Luis Gonzalez, who is 52 and in his 13th year of sobriety. “Sometimes you get drained in this field,” Gonzalez said. “Anthony re-energized me.”

That's great the guy got his act together, but that doesn't change the fact that he had real issues in his very recent past, and they took a huge chance on him. If Britt comes out and apologizes for the things he's done, would that make it a better comparison for you?

a 1 year deal for the league minimum? Did he even count against the salary cap?

It would be a start, but it would still be a shitty comparison. Do you honestly believe that issuing an apology comes close to equaling the commitment that Hargrove made to reinvent himself?

If Britt makes an actual effort to change his ways, I have no problem with the Saints bringing him in. He has not shown that he will do that in the slightest way, and he isn't going to sign for a 1 year minimum

I think Hicks is going to get a pretty big contract. If I'm wrong, he'd be a great fit.

Britt could probably be had for very close to the minimum with a few incentive clauses.

I never said we should sign the guy. I asked if we should take a chance on a talented guy with problems, then people started acting like the Saints never take chances on head cases.

So comparing Britt to Hargrove is ridiculous, but comparing him to a guy who killed someone in a drunk driving accident isn't?

Are we talking about them giving Britt more than that? Cause that's not what I was saying. Only way I would sign him is if it was a cheap contract I could get out of immediately if he screws up once.
