Definitely doesn't help to be in draft pick purgatory where you don't make the playoffs and don't end up with a high draft pick. To OP... why would you trade Brandin Cooks? Good lord.

This team is not far off. I know everyone likes to jump off cliffs, but we need to maybe relax. We are headed to a 7-9 type season, but we will be competitive and if we can get some luck could possibly wind up getting hot.
We lost the first 2 games by a combined 4 points and had the lead or tied in the last minute of both games. Relax.
Loomis isn't the answer, the team is the antithesis of a successful NFL franchise. Bad drafts, horrible FA signings and abysmal contract negotiations. The talent evaluation has mostly been woeful. Brees' talent has been wasted (except for 2009).
Second least homegrown draft choices of all NFL teams still on the squad.
The worst dead cap money in the league two years running.
That's sheer incompetence on both fronts.

Again who is going to trade for our marginal players? You say yourself in the OP that we should be building through the draft. Well every other team in the league feels the same way. In no way are they going to give up anything for average players. This isn't Madden.
