Manning threw for 5500 yards and 2 years later was arguably one of the worst starting QBs in the league.

This is what's wrong with NFL fans in general. A lot are way too short-sighted and can't see the long-term payoffs of certain moves. I've explained my logic behind a Lynch pick in a 3 page thread earlier, so I don't feel like rehashing it. If you want feel free to go read it yourself.

I'm not pushing for Lynch at 12. I can just see the logic behind it, and I think it's something our FO is seriously considering.

Could you imagine if they were still in the NL Central? Cubs, Cards, Pirates... thats enough... happy the Stros broke loose

Edinson Volquez and Johnny Cueto were both on the Reds, couldn't win jack... they jump to the AL and win a World Series with KC! Stros jump to the AL, and lose only to the eventual champion! Central just eats itself alive...

This is what's wrong with SAINTS fans in general, no appreciation for the great players on a mediocre team. You keep the great players you have (Drew Brees being a Top 3 NFL QB) and make moves to compliment a guy like Drew. Wasting a first rounder on a position that you are in the Top 3 in makes no sense. Get an OG, OT, WR or a CB so that the defense can hold a lead that Drew gives them.

There is no sign of a decline from Drew, so give him something more to work with. If you are looking in terms of the future, that's great, I want the Saints to be good when Drew leaves as well, not just good while he's here. However, we already drafted a QB with a lot of potential last season, so drafting a first rounder would be a complete waste. Makes me wonder if you are a true Saints fan at all.
