As someone else said, IAQ has played very well when he's on the field and Harper should drastically improve based on scheme alone. I'm not a fan of Jenkins at safety tho and hope he slides back to corner. LT and pass rush are our biggest needs IMO. And since we seem to do great at drafting linemen later on in the draft, I'm set on pass rush with the first pick and perhaps a safety later. Again, that's obviously based on availability.

Let's say we do pick Vacarro. I assume Harper is cut. How much money would that free up?

I think it saves 3.5 million this year, but we will take a 1.85 million dollar hit this year and then still have 4.25 million in dead money from him in future years.

This according to Spotrac.com

I think rather than giving him 6 million to walk, his previous play warrants another chance in the new system.

Me too, but I think we end up trading all our picks until we a dozen or so picks in the 4th and 5th rounds.

this shite is getting out of hand

every player always has a good workout.

just because a player talks to a team, doesnt mean they will draft him

no team promises a player they will draft him

Safety is the biggest need position on the roster. With left tackle a close second.

Lt is the 1st need.
- protecting # 9 blindside is the biggest concern

Pass rush 2nd need.
- I think we hoping somebody emerges on the current roster in the new scheme. Whether its butler, tez, or galette, but most of us would like additional insurance adding another pass rusher at #15.

Safety 3rd need.
- I'm somewhat comfortable with IAQ at FS, but not comfortable w/ Jenkins.

I truly believe that him Elam and Reid are all the same level. Him at 15th would be an awful pick.

Will he have no coverage responsibilities in the new system? If so, maybe you're right. Dude can't cover your grandma.

Agree. I think Elam is the best S in the draft. Then Thomas, Reid, Vacarro, and Cyprien.

And with how deep this S draft class is, it would not be a good move to take Vacarro at 15. Their are other prospects who are as good or better.

I think Schmarko Thomas from Syracuse and Elam are instant impact players from day 1. But they are more of the SS type of players.

If we are looking at a cover 1st S, I would take Cyprien over Vacarro. Hell, I would think of taking a bigger, rangier CB like David Amerson or Jon Banks later in the draft and move them to S.

Phillip Thomas from Fresno is a good S, and he will be there in the 3rd or later. Nobody is really talking about this guy, but hes a good player and a great leader.
