Repeat after me. Taysom Hill will never be the starting QB for the Saints.

There are alot more things to worry about than things that will never happen

Because this is Brees' team. He's the starting QB until he decides he's not.

This isn't true either. It just means Payton didn't think he was ready to start now. Taysom could still very well start in 2 years if he develops to the point that Payton thinks he is ready.

Maybe, maybe not. He does seem to be showing improvement. Does that mean he will develop into a QB that can run this offense? No. Nor does what he has not accomplished to this point mean he won't.

The problem here is that none of us know anything about how he truly is developing and what Payton sees his future to be, yet most of us are proclaiming him to be the savior or the failure. It's just an all around silly argument to be having.

Sean Payton said he likes “perfect world” scenario of keeping all 3 QBs, but “we don’t live in one.” Said he and GM Mickey Loomis haven’t begun discussing roster yet, though, and it’s always best to give it a little time after season. Said Brees is still playing at high level.

If facts over feelings is terrible,

you thought a "fact of 23% snap count" proves anything of worth of what Taysom brought to this roster in multiple positions this year? That is a disgrace that you have the nerve to put Taysom's worth in the same sentence as our fullback. I have no desire to sit here and argue the value Taysom has brought to this team over the past two years let alone his quiet on field leadership presence he's brought to the roster. Facts: You're a god damn idiot!

Let your mind process what I said about Taysom being valuable at multiple positions this season. Let's compare salary. If Ryan Fitzpatrick were cut after one year, he makes about 7 mil; Bridge made 7.5 mil for one season, so his contract is in the proper range. The organization doesn't mind paying Bridge that amount because they can use Taysom at multiple positions because he won't be the next qb up. Taysom hill is 1 player, but he gives the Saints the flexibility to carry 1 less tight end, Wr, special teams player, and he's still a qb. Finally, Taysom will be our starting qb.

Drew Brees just posted his highest TD% of his career, 2nd highest rating, 2nd lowest INT%, 2nd highest completion %, went 32-10 his last three seasons, went to divisional, conference, wildcard rounds, Saints would be one of the top 5 favorites to win the SB in Vegas in the offseason.

Hill is a 30 year old who has thrown 13!!! NFL passes. He completed 58% of his college passes, 41/31 TD/INT and he was way older than the rest of his competition.

The onus is on you to tell us WHY Taysom Hill can start for this team. You cannot say bc of preseason

Taysom's demeanor and presence and scrambling ability was their for the viewing. His confidence has grown tremendously over past 2 seasons here. I mean, there's nothing worth saying to you that hasn't been visible that you are choosing to discount. Taysom would not have been given the QB role he's had if Payton wasn't confident in his abilities. Who threw MT's single season tieing completion, oh that's right, it was the dude you think can't play in the league cause he has not enough experience to your liking and you got the BYU tape in the VCR still.

He’s thrown 6 passes this season. You do not hand the keys to a SB roster to 30 year old QB based off demeanor, presence, or scrambling ability

He threw 6 passes this year. There’s nothing quantifiable you can point to to suggest he could do anything you think he can do in a real NFL game

He threw 6 passes this season. Bridgewater started 5 games and the majority of a 6. 6 passes. Nearly 300 special teams snaps. Confidence what? You have to be kidding.

This may be the best of them all

My “liking” is attacking a Super Bowl window while it’s still open. Not experimenting with a guy who has proven nothing in the NFL as a QB

Taysom should be our starter next season. Taysom is so valuable to the team because he's reliable at different positions. With that being said, it is time to let him take over. It wasn't a popular decision to start A Rod over Favre, but it was the correct decision. The Saints should do the same as Green Bay.

I love what Taysom does for this team, but Dear Lord. I can't deal with Taysom fan-boys anymore.

I'm done with Taysom threads.

How did that work out for Tom Brady?

Brady was a 2 year starter at UM and broke a couple records. He was the winning qb in the orange bowl and beat a pretty good Bama team. The only reason he didn’t play more has more to do with Lloyd Carr being a dipshit then it does Brady’s ability.

I have no idea where the ‘Brady the sucky college qb’ comes from but I really wish it would die.

Brady won 20 out of 25 games as a starter and won a Big 10 title

He also won 3 Super Bowls by age 27. Hill was completing 59% of his passes with 12 TDs/ 11 INT as a 26 year old in college

How did that work out for Tom Brady?

How did that work out for X bad QB?

Troy Smith, Tebow, Brad Smith, Terrelle Pryor, Pat White, Denard Robinson, Vince Young, Antwan Randle El, Dennis Dixon or the numerous other good runners/poor passers?

Can’t we just enjoy Hill in his correct role? Expand it even. This team is better with Brees under center and Hill doing his thing around the field

He’s a really really good football player. Sean Payton knows whether he can be a good or great qb. I trust that if Taysom is given that chance then he obviously has the potential.
